Sharing Stories, Building Community ā A Conversation with Two Inspiring Medfield Students
This May, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Kaitlyn Marshall and Nora Booth, two Medfield High School seniors, as part of their final projectāa series of interviews with local entrepreneurs about their careers, experiences, and advice for the road ahead.
Their thoughtful questions, curiosity, and genuine interest in learning more about what it means to be a small business owner in Medfield made for a truly special conversation. We talked about the realities of restaurant ownershipāboth the freedoms and the challengesāand the unique path that brought me to this moment, from a philosophy major to a bank executive, and eventually, to opening 21North alongside my husband last spring all while reinvigorating my tech company Northway Technologies.
We also touched on something near and dear to my heart: how being part of a local business isn't just about what you serve or sellāit's about how you connect. It was meaningful to reflect on how 21North has allowed us to connect with our town, meet new faces, and create a space where conversations and friendships naturally unfold across the table.
Kaitlyn and Nora shared a beautiful summary of our time together, and I was honored to be included in their project. I walked away reminded that the next generation is already filled with strong, thoughtful voicesāand if our conversation is any sign of what's ahead for them, I think we're all in very good hands.
To Kaitlyn and Noraāthank you for the opportunity to be part of your journey. You're already making an impact, and I can't wait to see where your path takes you next. š
